Beth moved to Carbondale in 2012 and joined First Presbyterian in 2014. She is a former member of The Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago where she served as Deacon.
Beth attended college at the College of William and Mary in Virginia and some graduate school at Northwestern University in Chicago. She retired after a career in Federal government and in private industry in the human resource management firms of William M. Mercer, Inc. and ADP.
She and her husband, Ron, enjoy travel, gardening, and their cat, Mr Madison, who is so-named because he came from Orange County, Virginia, home of James Madison. Beth is a "lapsed" Master Gardener and a hiker, and in 2010 completed hiking the Appalachian Trail.
